Question starting problems

my car wont power on anymore..i was driving home got up to about 65 when it acted like it was getting anymore gas..i pulled off and it drove just fine for about 5 more miles when it just stopped starting. when i turn it over it wont start up if it does it goes just above 1000 rpms..if i give it gas it dies right away..if i dont give it gas it dies slowly..any ideas?

is a 93 , shoot it.
kidding.....

last tune up was?
CEL lamp on , at key on,?
so it starts up every time and idles ok?
and it bogs like dead dog.! got you.

if above ok,
then i might be low fuel pressure,
clogged fuel filter, bad fuel pump, bad fuel regulator stuck wide open, lowering pressure to very low.

timing belt slip.
on any 16v, not doing a compresson test , invites valve damage
non interference engine, it is....
or do that cam timing inspection now , while engine is in one piece.

any car white neglected belt must be inspected at this point.
that would be prudent.

cheers.

Jerrys main sidekick page
This is jtgh's website, go to "why my check engine light is glowing" and learn how to extract the DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) and post them (mutiple codes?) here. Good luck

CHECH ENGINE LAMP is ON.

The ecu wants to tell you something, let it tell you.
on this old car, it only WARNS, when things are serious. so ask it.

Check Engine Lamp stuck ON?
