there are 2 trannys auto, on licks, (and vastly different)

what car , what year, what tranny you have (oops got PM its a tracker)
you could greatly help buy telling what the gear shift says.
PRND321 or PRND21 ? ( my best guess at label.) 3speed or 4 speed , BIG DIFF.
Better. (no suzuki's can do)
then open the glove box , see inside, see DAH build sticker.
this is called the "GM RPO build sticker"

many 3digit codes. ( for every !!! option on car)

see about ? line 3 , about first code MXn (MX = auto tranny)
the code MX1 = 3speed 3L30 tranny. 3L= 3speed longitudnal, 30= load rating.
yours will say MX1 or some other MX, what is it.?

that 03-72LE is the tranny makers code and that is a 4 speed.
a 4 speed will not work on a 3 speed car ( you never said) unless you make major harness changes (in cab too) and install a TCM tranny puter. ( at the least !!!)

yours is a 2 door right? 92 tacker 2d, 4wd, auto 3sp. rag top.

I only know it takes (at least)
new dash harness for 4 sp.
new tranny harness and TCC harness.
new TCM (transmissioncontrol model)
possible a new TCC relay.
new 4sp tranny, maybe mount changes ,
may be prop shafts , for sure ,just checked.
new shifter
new console
new park lock out, and complexities of that , snowballing.
cruise control? , i wont go there.....

it would take me 3 hours to look it all up in the parts lists to see the diffs.

mixing years, is suicide for the harnesses,my guess.

the 4sp mostly fits in 4 door heavy tin tops. ( thus the heavy rating)
the 3sp most fits in 2 door light canvas tops.
the harness are completely (mostly) different in these cars. 2 vers. 4 door.s

i think your 3sp is used on a VAST number of cars world wide.
it should not be hard to find , did you ask a wrecker to cross it.
3L30

BTW the 4sp , shift manually pefectly with the TCM remove, just no auto.
(it goes in to manual test mode , when the electronics goes belly up)

great trick if tranny acts wierd ,just pull TCM conn. and drive another 100k, manually.

good luck.

th180c is the old name of tranny. ( 33 year old name that is)
i suspect someone dropped the th.

but the rebuilders tranny parts houses, use both, cuz most the guts is the same.
the cases can be different, 2wd and 4wd.

crossing trannies is not easy.

Well, from what I have read online mine is the 180C-3L30, I will check out Barlows tommrow to see if they still have that one listed on car-parts.com. I'm not going to fus with all the harness and stuff. Better off to but a newer tracker than mess with it.
God Bless,
Joe
