I bought my Sidekick a few months ago mainly to use as a daily runner, but also for some occasional off-roading. After a few excursions doing the latter I can say I am quite happy with the 4wd performance in general. To chime in on another thread on this forum ... I find the stock auto-locking hubs engage and disengage nicely without a hitch.
However, it is apparent that some kind of locking differential would be a desirable upgrade for the little beast. I am open to either front or rear lockers, or both, but the change must be a net plus, even for a vehicle driven mostly on the highway, and it must be cost-effective.
I have read numerous articles online about lockers in general and a few pertaining specifically to Suzuki models. Many seem to feel that the ARB air lockers are the best, and not surprisingly the most expensive. For my occasional off-road use I think there must be a less expensive option that I would be happy with.
The KAM electric locker seems like a nice option in that it eliminates the air compressor which the ARB locker needs.

Then there are the Powertrax lockers such as the "Lock-Rite" and Powertrax's newer "No-Slip Traction System". If they work as advertised, these seem perfect for their ease of installation and not needing attention after the fact, if there aren't too many negatives offsetting the benefit.
I am interested in hearing what experiences, good and bad, any Suzuki owners have had with any type of differential locker. Is there a reasonably priced product that will give me improved off-road capability without making the highway characteristics suffer too much?
Mil Gracias! A thousand thanks!
