Default My Sidekick now on 35s and need some ideas...

Check it out...

I installed a 6in lift and would like to fit some nice wide 35s, however I ran into this problem...
Back

Front

The back is not too much of a problem. I'm just going to cut out the extra inch out of the fender and it should clear the tire, even at full stuff, thanks to the suspension spacers limiting the stuff. The problem is with the front. So wide I can't turn. I'm thinking of just cutting out the fender to make room, BUT that means cutting into the floorboards and making less leg room. I'll just move the seats back an inch or two. OR try and move the front suspension forward. Anyone know of someone with 35s and what they did?

My goal is to keep is as low as possible and keep the independent front end for the clearance. I don't plan for sick flex. Had a hummer and it did better than any flexy jeep I wheeled with. Hoping for the same in a smaller package. Thanks for any help or input.

cut out fenders or get wheel spacers or both or you could use a more narrow tire or even a shorter tire (but whats the fun in that) the pics look awesome the fenders on the front are fairly easy to trim out well atleast mine where

most people i have seen with that big of a tire had a solid axle conversion replacing front and rear axles if you are familiar with the magazine petersens 4-wheel and offroad there are two rigs in their ultimate adventure this year that caught my eye one was a lime green 4 door kick on 37's running toyota solid axles and one was a red tracker on 35's running the same axles but both had different locker set ups both unique and awesome in their own

I was reading about them. It's cool to see so many Suzukis on the Ultimate Adventure, even though one was suzuki in body alone (the LWB hemi powered one). I thought about the solid axle conversion which would be fairly easy to do. There is even a Trailtough kit for converting sidekicks and x-90s over to solid axles and coils (Sidekick/Tracker Parts). It's a pretty slick setup, BUT here in Alaska there is a lot of snow and mud so I really like the independent front setup because of the clearance. Hell, I'd convert the rear too if I could. There was a website where some Canadians were building their own IFS for original solid axle jeeps and trucks for this same reason, but I can't seem to find it anymore. If anyone knows what I'm talking about please let me know. I'd like to get a hold of them and ask some questions.

Dave Jones (K9RDJ Homepage) ran 35s on his Vit for a while. I know he cut and shut the front body mounts and trimmed the fenders as well as moving back the footwell. How much you cut and shut will depend on the wheel offset. Watch out on the drivers side cos if you go in too far you will restrict throttle movement.
