Default REAR ends!!!

will putting an automatic 3rd members in a stick give me better mpg? o yea and the spedo gear???? plez say yes!!!!!!!

yes if you go with the auto gears you will gain mpg's. since you have the 5.13 gears now and you will be going to 4.10 gears. I dont think you have to change the speedo gear.

are you sure about the speedo thing cause i thought you had to change it cause it goes with the gears.

I have always been told that automatics have 4.62 gears and 5spd has 5.13's. Can someone confirm the 4.10 or 4.62 for the automatics? -Ed

Autos are 4.62s. Changing gears is more likely to cost you mpg as you will need to use more throttle to achive the same acceleration. It'll be a dog up hills too.

that bad though, on the highway im pullin 3-4k at 65 i would like it down to 2-3k if i could

These aren't V8s though, its a culture thing as much as anything else. Here in Europe thats normal rpm. The Zuk engine needs a few rpm, at 2000-3000rpm you will have the throttle flat on the floor on any kind of incline and your mpg will suck. I've run a stock Vit (first gen Track/Kick) on 33s and, trust me, overgearing is the worst thing that you can do. 3500rpm is around the point where the engine makes maximum torque and is at its most efficient.

4.30 gears have a 10/43 tooth count
4.625 gears have an 8/37 tooth count
5.125 gears have an 8/41 tooth count
5.375 gears have an 8/43 tooth count
5.625 gears have an 8/45 tooth count
