These aren't V8s though, its a culture thing as much as anything else. Here in Europe thats normal rpm. The Zuk engine needs a few rpm, at 2000-3000rpm you will have the throttle flat on the floor on any kind of incline and your mpg will suck. I've run a stock Vit (first gen Track/Kick) on 33s and, trust me, overgearing is the worst thing that you can do. 3500rpm is around the point where the engine makes maximum torque and is at its most efficient.
