Default 1990 Sidekick ignition not working!

I have a 1990 suzuki sidekick and the ignition is not working. Here are the symptoms I noticed.

1. Key in any position does not light any dash lights, operate wipers, or turn signals (any operation that requires key to work)

2. Headlights, 4 way flashers, dome light, and brake lights all work.

3. Tested battery with tester it passes

4. Got to ignition switch and the 2 green wires on the top pulled out of the switch

5. Also noted that auto trans will not shift out of gear (seems like gear pos switch is not getting power)

6. All fuses and relays are working

I would like to convert to push button type start jsut need a schematic and list of parts to do so

Check this page out. It sounds like your ECU is dead, but this page will point you in the right direction.

Default no start. IS THIS AN AIR BAG CAR< yes then stop.

im pretty sure no air bags, but? could be typo on year? just want to be safe.
road map.
is this an 8valve engine?

ign not working,?
wont crank or
wont make spark?
or
wont inject?

keep in mind Head lights are HOT ALL TIME circuit. that way a broke ign switch will not blind you. all cars, mostly.
all dash lights out but what about CEL?
is CEL lamp on , check engine Lamp glowing at key on.?
do you hear Fuel pump buzz for 3 seconds each key on, listen at tank filler cap. off. (key on , pump on 3 sec. no more, key off , key on repeat.)

green wires sound like buzzer defeated for key key nag, they are tiny ,right.?
many people pull wires and are crazy due to air bags, are you messing with
the wiring with out defeating the AIR bags!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STOP
learn that first or put your self or other at serious risk.

attached is just wires to get it running , schematic.

meter in hand?
measure the blue black from main, must be 12vdc at key on.
measure the white/black to mail , it too must be 12vdc key on, if it is Ignition switch is ok.

use a needle to back probe relay socket.
and measure with black test lead touching shiny metal of body.

the relays both are under the left side of steering column, below ECU.
greensocket is fuel pump releay.
black socket next to it is MAIN.

that will get you directly to the issue.

No CEL or any dash lights. No airbags either I was attempting to pull steering wheel to take ignition switch out but found that switch was modified so that you don't have to take steering wheel off to access it. This is why I suspect ignition switch is bad since it looks like it was tampered with.

Thanks for the info on the fuel pump and main relays I will check for fuel pump buzz next.

Also the auto trans gear switch does not work either (meaning when I press on brake I can not shift out of gear) from the schematics it appears that these are tied to the main ignition switch as well i.e if the ign switch is not working then the auto trans positiong switch can't get power either.

correcto
please,
forget the tranny lock out, fix the simplest first order problem first?
the black and blue wire, just put a meter on it.
10:1 that fixes the easy things, like the park lock.
the dwg above only shows those things needed to run enigine.
with out power on the Blue/black nothing of any importance will happen./
cheers

At ign. swith tested main grn/wht - powered (12v) in key off. No power (0v) in any other position.

Ignition wires labeled as following;
ACC - light blue
IG1 - black / white
IG2 - Yellow / Black
ST - Black / Yellow
L - small Black
E - small Black

Assuming ignition switch bad due to failed test - how to convert to push button start bypassing ignition?

Default new 91 schemo, see the important wires?

grn/white dead.
try my 91 schemo for size.
it matches yours.

some kicks have pure mechanical park lock,so later on that. not sure on 90.

ok you lost your fusable link
all power to ign switch comes IN to said switch not OUT. on whitegreen.

the 60 amp fuse in right front fender well engine bay is blown.

see dwg 8
it has some miss info about location. but i think mine is correct.

IN PUT < OUTPUT.

its a bad INPUT you have ( Ignition switch is ok)

good luck finding the correct fuses.
they are wierd looking no?

others here have sources.

both attachments are zipped.
