Heater Blower Motor Wiring
My blower motor quit working. I have the wires dangling by it; pink and black wires, but the plastic plug housing for the wires is missing. The connectors are still on the wires, so I could just connect then directly to the pins on the blower motor, but without the plastic housing I do not know which color goes on which pin. I do not have any testers so I have to go by trial and error. I am ready to just try to connect them, but will it blow the motor if I connect them backwards? Winter has begun, and I'm freezing without my blower motor. BBBBBRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrr. lol
Thanks for any advice,
Kate
P.S. Sorry... forgot to list this.. 89 Sidekick 1.6 ltr

My only question here is whether connecting the wires backwardswill blow the motor, or if it will merely reverse the rotation of the motor. I need to go out to try to connect this now, but am afraid I may blow the fan motor. If doing this will merely reverse the rotation of the motor, then I will not have to be afraid of connecting them backwards while I try to do this with trial and error.
Oh, and by the way, aquanaut20, I am originally from the Fraser Valley. Just nice to see someone from home.
Reversing wires just reverses the motor. You only have a positive (pink) and a ground (black) at the motor. If your pink gives you an approximation of high speed, then you have 12v at the motor.

Thanks everyone.
I plugged the wires in, and the first time was good. The fuse blew right after It started, but after checking, it was only 10 fuse. Fixed that, and I now have a heater again. Thanks again for the info.

No, the fuse box lid is long gone; was gone when I bought Jr back in 2002. If you have a copy of the fuses and their placement and strength for the 89 sidekick, I would be appreciative. Looks like one step at a time, I am restoring my little Jr. I will never sell him; love him too much. *smile*
I've always been able to find obscure stuff by Googling the application and component or searching by application and different phrasing of the issue at hand. With persistence in modifying words and phrases you'll find a depiction of the fuse box and its circuit amperages.
