Question 95 Geo Tracker wont come out of park... any tips???

i have an automatic trans that was stuck in low gear in my woodsbuggy tracker ... so i disconnected the cables that go to the little lever on the tranny and pushed up real hard on it ( with bare hands ) and it went all the way into park... now it will start up but even when its running with the brakes applied and shift lock thing pressed i still cant pry it out of park... is there some kind other locker that im not seeing??? thanks in advance

I had the same prob in my 97, take apart the shifter console. Inside you will see a white rectangular piece of plastic, (this is the part that stops you from shifting from park to reverse when your foot is not on the brake). Now just remove it. But remember when you remove it, you'll be able to shift from park without the brake being applied.

then you will become like the Audi 5000 lady who drove over her kids. LOL.

some cars have a secret release in the console for defeating this thing. (not kicks?)
imagine being stranded by this POS.

Park lock out solenoid and Park NO start , you have 2 safety devices here.

many here , defeat both. especially offroad.

Question

i have the whole thing torn apart... the line frayed and wouldnt shift the thing on the passenger side of the tranny... so i took an air hammer to the trans tunnel so i could get a crowbar in there... will i cant move it either way ( rocking it, having someone on the pedal and trying everything i can think of )??? that little piece of plastic moves when i push the brake in, i dont think it the problem as im trying to shift it right on the lever that comes off the side of the tranny???
thanks
