Default fan and water pump pulley

The books say to remove the four nuts holding the water pump pulley, and then lift out the fan... I assume the fan remains connected to the pulley at this point? The photos in the books aren't clear. My pulley ain't budgin' nowhere nohow, after removing all the nuts. I *assume* that that's just because it's rusted and seized to the water pump hub, and that if I spend the next week or so squirting penetrating oil in there and tapping it with a wrench and wiggling on it, it will eventually come free, but on the off-chance I've missed something, or there's some method to apply any persuasion, I'd love to hear about it...

the fan sits on the wp studs.
off the nuts.
then rap it (the fan hub) with a 18 inch stick and a hammer.
it just sticks there, it fits tight and perfect so it can wobble.
any wobble will wipe out a Pump in short order.
it has an index boss in the center , a centering device.
just rap it dude . !
cheers.

If all else fails, use a bigger hammer, eh?

I'll try that when I get home later...
