Default 92 sidekick lift/bigger tire questions.

hey, i have a 1992 suzuki sidekick and i wass just wondering, would i need a lift to put bigger tiresand wheels on it? not that big of wheels, something that will look good and get me through some mild mud.

and if i would need a lift, how much would that cost? thanks.

I put 31's under my 95 tracker and they rubbed alot so i made some coil spacers out of steel about 3 in lift only thing is the front tires are angled bad so that wouldnt work for a daily driver but if your looking to go with 30 or 31 in tires I would at least get a 2 in lift or 3 in lift. calmini sells them and so does lowrangeoffroad.com.

For my 1991 Geo Tracker, I used the 2 inch spring spacers (rear spacers are 2" and front are 1.5"). Those were about $90.

For the longer reach, I had to replace the rear shocks with those for a 1991 Ford Crown Vic, and the front needed a set of the strut spacers ( $35 pair from lowrangeoffroad.com).

For more tire clearance, I installed a 2 inch body lift also from lowrange ($120). I fabbed a set of brackets to lift the rear bumper, but haven't done the front bumper yet.

For tires, I put on a set of 30x9.5 -15 MTs from pepboys. The tires are mounted on Cragar Soft-8 rims 15x7 ($35 ea from Summitracing).

The thing does off road wheeling very well. It keeps up with stock jeepers, but does need a rear locker to reach that last 10% of tuff trails. A skid plate and a pair of rock sliders would reduce the risk of body and underside damage.

i fit 30-9.5 tires on my stock tracker it did require alot of fender trimming but the mud tires make a world of difference
