Default 1992 suzkui sidekick questions. plz help

hey, im looking into buying a 1992 sidekick 4x4, automatic trans. 4 door
here are my questions.
1.is 200,000 thousand kms too much?
2. is there a 8valve 1.6 and a 16 valve 1.6? a
if so, is the 8valve a crappy engine?
3. its an automatic. and i wanted too use it for offroad use aswell as roads, so is automatic not good for offroad? or do i have to find a manual vehicle?(not hardcore offroading, just occasionaly mudding and mild hill climbs)

thanks, if you could answer some of those questions that would be greatly appreaciated.

First off congrats, I just picked up a 92 Tracker convertable.

1. It really depends on the previous driver, where they highway or street kilometers?

2. Both engines are good, I'm sure other members can enlighten you more about the efficiency of each.

3. Auto is just as good as Standard, No worries there, just less pedals to worry about. I have an auto, but I really love the control I feel with a manual myself, something I have to get used to for now.

8v has less HP , less stress and less valves to burn out.
8v is much easier to diagnose problems, , you can see the fuel injecting. (very nice)
8v only has 1 injector to ever clean or worry about.
8v may run cooler off and on road, well ,it might be less likely to over heat any way.

3sp auto is a cheap tranny ,and wastes power and enery and mpg.
4sp auto is vastly better. plus OD. + mpg. on long trips highway.
off road , depends on driver. which he or she thinks is better.

the 5sp is way cheaper to replace if a tranny fails, "price an automatic wow"
but a clutch could go bad on a high milage car.

id want to have a compression test before buying it , and underbody inspection for sure.

hope that helps.

cheers
