92' trak 8v tbi new valve job timing belt full tune up, no CEL
so yesterday i was off work and wondering if i could clean up some of those sensors that i think have been giving me trouble (25mpg) i took out the IAT, covered in black liquid(i guess from running too rich) cleaned, replaced...Ect sensor looked great, so quickly replaced...O2 sensor almost all of the holes are clogged up comp. and i also adjusted the idle just a hair and the tps sensor had moved so i adjusted it, take in mind that it was running great before just not as many mpg's as i would like
fired it up like a blueish smoke started rolling out i know your thinking oil and your probably right, it had an oil smell, but it smell more like fuel than oil.
i checked fluid after driving it around the block a couple of times...no oil in the rad. , plugs looked ok not fouled white with a little brown spot...How can it be running great then take a dump on me just like that, could it be one of these sensors, should i have left the IAT covered like it was PLEASE HELP ME
Hi, I had done the same without any problem just an increase in mpg. The smoke seems to be a valve oil seal, donīt you have any code, the black lqd. in the IAT seems to be out of order I checked mine and it is dry so may be the lqd. coming from somewhere else the problem. It can be a mix of oil coming from the exaust to EGR valve then into the intake. Check your EGR it must be black dry inside, at last if you use any kind of solvent it may reached the intake and removed some dirt that produce the smoke

if automatic, your tranny (left side) modulator valve diaphragm is cranked so you are sucking ATF like a Yuppi drinking Long Island Ice tea. hehehehe
tell tranny.
course all VJob comes with new seals.
new head gasket, and torqued twice. after a big run.
the IAT all get dirty, no matter it is just a resistor (thermistor) it gets tons of
PVC gasses , and that is filty.
pay that no mind. but do make sure PVC is working and not missing or clogged,
if it rattles and blows one way, it is good.
black, gas.
white, oil.
goes quickly the white, its steam. (WATER OR Coolant) and steam as start is allays normal. follow car in another car and watch it,
cheers

I'Ve got a 5 speed no auto, the IAT wasn't just dirty it was dripping with black liquid not oil, yea i put all new gaskets on torqued twice, dad was helping he's old school from way back....quite the mechanic
looks bad,
but that induction in smog choked cars has:
gasoline vapors, air, oil vapor and bypass gasses (PCV) and very hot EGR gasses.
this is a witches brew of crap. ( must be 10k posts on how to clean inductions, huh?)
sorry to hear white smoke is from inside engine and not the Automatic leak.
