hope it is it, but P0300 can be many things. not just ignition.
the word misfire, can fool anyone.
evan a bloody EGR can cause it. ( indirect misfire counts)

IT Not the Distributor man... i'm spending too much money on this thing. JTGH do you have a picture of the Cam GEAR the pin Lock for the cam can be reverse. it meant there are 2 hold for the pin lock . I can't think off anything except that . I might put in wrong . I put the distributor in align Cylinder 1 TDC and crank engine it will not run. The nose of the ROtor button straight up line up with the Bolt that tight distributor. I'm getting frustrate about this car.
it sure can be, on 91 or any 8v. 16v , no photos of cog with bolt removed.
p300 can be many, many things, and not just a bad coil.
its a loss of expected power , when the ecu , expected it !! nothing more.
compression and timing of all .
you have done a strobe light at Tdc JUMPER WITH FREEZE timing jumper in place.
that might help.
see if TDC marks can hold steady?
keep an open mind on p0300.
it can be purely mechanical, or bad electronics, either side.
maybe someone here is hold 96-98 cam cog photos that are clear.
all i know is the E mark goes up.
