Default 96 tracker 16v obd code p1408

last week i posted my no power problem on the forum here and got lots of great input, thanks so much... however i just can't seem to trace the source of my headache... i limped the old girl over to the auto zone and they scanned it for me and came up with a p1408... the erg system, great but what about it...? i took it all apart cleaned and tested everything mechanical and vacuum related but no dice... is it a sensor problem, something electrical? me no speaka da ohm... i can only find that code in the listings for ford, mazda, and volkswagen, and they are all a tad different prognosiswise... any thoughts? thanks christian btw... is there a quick easy way to by pass this system in the mean time???

it is obliquely related.
but that is wrong, you didnt look at the SUZ codes,
here is the correct error
p1408
MDP Sensor Circuit Malfunction
manifold differential pressure.

i believe this sensor is used only to check the operation of the EGR.
It is not used for EFI fuel calcs. for sure.
however it would have to be unplugged to fail. they are rugged. few fail.

there can be an air leak into the induction that can cause this failure .
low vacuum, all the time.
make sure connector is clean and didnt get dropped off or smashed.

i will try to read your low power posts.

but if you have low power , id trouble shot that first.
you maf, ect , iat, and TPS rule the roost.
this is a 96 , rent a full scan tool and post the full print out hot at 2500 rpm.

not a code reader , they are mostly useless, (AZ does it free, so you dont need dtc code read tool)
you can rent a full scan tool and they are very powerful.
it will report all sensor data LIVE ! including the MDP sensor.

anything that can disturb the air flowing in to the induction, might cause this sensor to read wrong.
it could be the sensor or its connections.
the reading from the MDP is way out of bounds,is what it is saying.

good day, and cheers

Ok I just bought a 96 tracker with the same code, got to looking and someone has removed the MDP sensor, and worst yet cut the wires off so I have no way to connect a new one. Can anyone post a pic of there so when I go to the junk yard, I know what I am looking for.

Thanks
