Default Window Problem

Hello,

I have a problem with the driver door window. It rolls down nice and easy but when i roll it back up, it goes good up until a certain point and it seems to get nocked off its "track" like this...

and then it stops rolling up cause it feels like its jammed, so then i have to put my hand on it and shove it back into the window like this...

its nice a crazy huge deal, but its just really annoying for the summer time

Do you know of anything i can do to fix it?
Thanks a lot guys!

Yeah, I recently had a similar problem, I had to take the lining off the inside of the door, and spray lubricant on every moving part I could get at. Since then it has been ok. Could be you have a worse problem, but you'll have to get in there like I did to find out for sure. Good luck!

mine did the same thing so i pulled both door panels and sprayed wd 40 on everything i know if you slam the door too hard with the window down it will shatter the window(don't ask how i know)

My drivers side acts up from time to time too. The door frame is flimsy. I found that bending it either in or out depending on the temperature will temporarily fix it. Good design.

There are two screws on the clamp at the bottom of the window. You need to back these off, adjust the window and then re-tighten them.

Check the condition of the rubber window channel weatherstrip at the sail area-that is, the area adjacent to the rear view mirror mounting area-if the weatherstrip is split, it can cause the window to bind on rollup by narrowing the channel, tightening up the channel area.

This is correct. I just finished fixing mine.
You will have a plastic sheet you need to peel back. WATCH OUT for the black tar they stick it on with! It is very hard to get off your hands.

Default Window Alignment

I just took care of the same problem yesterday and it was a breeze. Pop off the door pannel and roll the window down about half way. You will see two phillip head screws that attach the window bracket to the window register. Loosen these two screws and you will notice that the window will slide about a 1/4 inch in either direction as the location holes are slotted for adjustment. Now here comes the tricky part (ha ha). With the screws loose roll up the window and it will center itself to the register track and correctly align the window. Back the window down to the point you can tighten the screws and accomplish same (Tighten the screws). Now roll the window up and it should not cock to one side or the other. Operation should be smooth but if it isn't and your window still cocks to one side you may want to adjust the location of the window bottom to the register slide slightly left or right to allow the windows center of gravity and the axis of the register to coenside.

Long story short, loosen the two screw at the bottom of the window and align as required. Have a great day.
