Default Geo DIED

The other night I was going up a rough hill that is very bumpy in my 91 tracker and I was going really slow and when I hit the first few bumps it just DIES and so does everything else, headlights, dash lights, radio and everything and will not start back, the starter would not click or anything, lights would not come on or nothing, So I thought It must have a bad connection at the batt. or something and after checking... still would not do anything, Finally the lights come back on so I thought it must be fixed so I hit the key and everything dies again and will not do anything, after sitting about ten minutes I tried the lights again and they come on, and so did the dash lights and I hit the key and it fired and has not give any problem since. Anyone know what causes this? or is it just not made for bumps!? Thanks PS. Also something really weird was that when everything was dead, headlights and everything else I noticed I still had taillights when I would hit the breaks? ?Weird?

Battery connections can be real stinkers. You have to be thourogh when cleaning, especially on an older vehicle. As well, you have to follow the cables from the battery and
check and clean, again thouroughly the other ends. Brake lights could still work, because they don't draw a lot of power, but when you ask for more power, such as starting thru a bad ground or connection, it acts like a big resistor and says nope. This is my best guess, you can see what you get from others.

most likely a bad ground, re-check @ the battery, & than check @ the starter, not sure if the track has them, but check the selenoids on the fire wall too for good connections.

you are losing all power, easy to find, if its stays dead.
as they say cant fix it , if it aint broke. but battery terms, fuse terms (both sides)
next post a road map schematic for your exact area of probl.

yours is 8valves, right? should be.
starter can die for its big feed cable , or from the death of the igniton key start feed line.
see pm for schematic.
full
aside from battery terms and the big battery cables goint to starter ground and solenoid the below can be a problem.
the car has huge fuses on the right engine bay fender that power this car.
they can corrode top or bottom.
here is on page.

see PM mail.
for full set , full reso
