Starter Question

Hello All-

I have a '91 5-Speed Tracker and I'm replacing the starter. Are the starters the same for manual and automatic transmission?

they are diff, pn. and all the piece parts have PN,s
so anyone can fix a starter.
the 2 parts that were diff. were the Amature and the field coil assy. and brush assy.
however the clutch is the same including the gear.

i guess? the starter needs more power to overcome the slush in the TC, etc.

funny they didnt just put in the stronger one. ( copper is more expensive )
I bet both will work find, except in the far northern reaches of Siberia.

try the auto version in a MT, should work. housing same, mount same and gear.

I was suprised at the great suzuki support on this unit.

Thanks for the reply. I saw that the part numbers were different and the one for the auto cost about $40 more, but thought they looked pretty much the same.
