It's on the rear of the block (passenger side ). Clean all openings into the block, the EGR tube and intake opening as well. Good luck

there are 4 major components, and 3 things to clean. (sometimes 4)

ops my photo has a tiny error.
hose #13 plugs in to the nipple that loves to clog, a tiny oriface.

i will correct that .

I have a two door 1994 8 valve, automatic transmission Tracker and my EGR valve has "part 36" and I'm in Ohio. How can I confirm if I have a "California" car? If I do have a California car, can I expect fewer MPG's?

sorry, i think i overstated that, (my bad)
after 94 all kicks started using the Calif. EGR thermo probe too.
sorry for my over broad coverage.
in fact the code 51 became manditory on all kicks on that day and other issues for monitors.
basically EGR becomes more easy to fail and much harder to repair, 94 and 95
I think IIRC (better) that this is the year, you have to start spinning the rear wheels
to do a live EGR test. (unsafe and a pain to do)

and many states use cal cars, look under hood and see EPA tag, says , in compliance with C.A.R.B and or 033 export code on tag.
fed car is E03.
may be on VIN but I forget.

i corrected my EGr MOD TUBE POINTER ERROR.
Call nipple "A" , this nipple that feeds UP to EGR mod valve just loves to clog and
is 1/2 pencil lead size. tiny.
and has exhaust gas flowing thur it. (bad)

ok , back to work.
