Default Lift Kit for 1992 Geo Tracker?

I have a 1992 Geo Tracker 2 dr, softop, and going to do a lift next week to her, Do you know if a 2" Body lift will alow me to put my 31's on without rubbing? if not does anyone have any suggestions, also body lift kits what's the one to get or should I just make it up with tube steel?

I tried my 31's on my stock Tracker and man did they rub....lol, so took them back off and driving my stockers right now...

Also with a 2' lift I have to extend my gas filler neck, shifter and 4-wheel drive shifter also I believe ...anything after 2" gets into a lot more work...
does that sound about right?

I have a 3" Calmini body lift waiting for me to put in, but I understood that even 30's may rub the upper molding above the tires. Post up when your done with the results if you can.

I have 28" Goodyears on my Tracker with a 2" body and 2" suspension lift (so 4" total) with 1" wheel spacers and the only place it rubbed was on the rear outside edge of the fender well. I trimmed the plastic trim and beat the inside fender sheet metal back a little and it clears, at least at normal suspension height. Compressed it would probably make contact again.

I don't think just 2" will be enough for 31s. 4" of body lift alone will require steering and shifter shaft extensions. 4" combined body and suspension shafts are probably your best bet, give more suspension travel...

3" tubing is much easier you won't be able to do a two inch body lift unless you buy a custom lift .A 3" body lift will cost you about $20 worth of bolts and about $25 worth tubing ( less if you cut it your self).I have a 2" suspension lift (which is easier than a body lift) and I run 31" BFG mud terrains ans they do rub a little on the street but not bad .I plan to put in the 3" body lift soon that should eliminate the rubbing. My buddy has the same setup 2" suspension 3" body and he has basically no rubbing.Either way you will stil have to trim the inside of the front fenders and possibly do a few mods there.Search around there is lots of good info. Here is how to lift a 4 dr basically the same with a 2 dr and 2" tubing won't work in the place of 3"........believe me I know!!

Get a kit with 2" coil spacers for the rear and 1.5 for the front. Replace your rear shocks with those from an early 1990s Crown Vic once the 2" spacers are installed.

For the front:
Flip your strut mount plate. Use 2 exhaust flanges from an early 1990s Chevy Pickup as spacers for each side- they fit. Install the 1.5" spacers. With the flipped strut mount, this will give you about 2.25" in the front.

wow you make it sounds so easy. Do you use back your original front shocks? Is there any other rear shocks that match besides Crown vic?We don't have those model here.

One Down, One To Go, Home Made 2" Spacer Lift(Pics)

I believe that certain model mustang and F150 shocks will fit with slight modification, but not positive, you'll have to take some measurements. I just know that the Crown Vic ones bolt right on. Oh, and certain Lincoln Continental ones will fit too.
