I'm trying to find mine too. CEL came on Sat and stays on, while the engine seems to run normally and got 29 MPG yesterday.
If/when I find mine, I'll tell where it is.

You guys are looking in behind the dash, right, not on the front side. It's up in behind, where you can only see by laying on your back with your head jammed against the clutch and brake, and your back getting pain from the door sill.
Also, Canada trackers, didn't have this switch, so if that's what you have, you won't find it. Lastly, to keep in mind, the CEL lamp could be on for a legitimate reason, not just a stupid mileage triggered reminder to call the dealership and send them some money.

Yea, I know! I just want to rule out problems first.

Gary, If I remember correctly on my 95 Tracker the switch was inside the driver's speaker opening on a small plate, to the right and turned facing the firewall. It is a very tiny switch. Good luck

on the check engine light - usually you can drive it by auto zone/pep boys/ advanced auto type store and they can bring the machine out to read it for you. and here it is done at no charge. just dont hit them at the busiest hours and they will be much more helpful.

good luck

Naahh.
AZ has no tool for a 89-95 kick (its OBD1, not 2) just a paper clip is needed.
the 50k,80k,100k NAG (SES = service engine soon clock)
he said 95 year, and 150k so 150k is SES event, just slid the switch and done deal.
(hoping that CEL is not hot)

it is located in 1 of 2 places.
1. is here.
http://carfix.stufftoread.com/CEL/mi...ncel-sw-1w.jpg
2. is here:
under a piece of plastic where the mirror switch is located.
or pull left speaker cover and speaker at it to the right , in plane site.
that is every hint ever posted on this forum for this silly infernal SES switch.
gee, just unplug the useless thing and drive. Slide switch drive 50k , slide again.
like watching paint dry, huh?
on some 95 Kicks that are delivered to California , E33 code on smog sticker do not have this silly SES switch. in that case, the CEL glows for CEL errors only.

Check Engine Lamp stuck ON?

DLC connector for diagnosis.
here is my page for placing the jumper for both the old kicks and new kicks up to 1995.
the connetor is in front of the battery and is covered with a black rubber plug.
remove cap and place the jumper (small size paper clip fits perfect)

you must jump pin 2 to 4 on 6 pin 95 car.
the CEL will then flash out DTC error codes. 12 = normal,
if you do not get 12 flashed out, lamp is bad or ECU is toast.

jumper 4 to 5 to freeze IGN.timing so you can set same.
