Default Major Coolant in Oil

Hello, everyone. Hope you guys can help. We had a tracker motor to completely rebuild. The block ended up being bad and had to go with a different block that was "supposed" to be a '92 also. The block was bored, all new pistons, rings, crank turned with new bearings, etc. Head was completely gone through by professionals also. After putting it all together(by a professional but not a geo guy) there is water literally spraying out of the air snorkel and getting into the oil. This is not a white smoke or drop, it literally pours out of the snorkel within seconds of starting. We had an extra intake and switched them in case the intake was cracked internally and no change. A compression test of the cylinders gives a solid 150 in all cylinders. I thought maybe the wrong head gasket was on but chances are it wouldn't hold that kind of compression. I have plugged all hoses from the engine with the exception of the hose out of the radiator into the block and from the thermostat housing back to the radiator in case something was plumbed accidentally into a vacuum port. I do not find any blocks that do not appear to mate with the '92 head in case the block is not a '92. I have not run the numbers on the block yet as I kept thinking that with this much water it had to be something simple and I shouldn't have to tear the engine down completely. ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated. It is hard to find people with much experience with the tracker motor. I have had two but never had a major problem. Thank you, Joe

first get all the Antifreeze out of everything , FIRST !!! JUST USED WATER MAN, until car is water tight on all rebuilds or major coolant invasions.

16valves, tell what you have first , ok what were you driving?

intake man. cracked, freeze damage,
what is your location, alaska or florida or ?
that metal hose thing below 16V throttle body, cracked inside.
intake man. gasket cracked on front side area or far rear.
head cracked.

give more NFO.

did you get a valve job?
if yes, did they pressure check the head.
same for block,
ask those questions, always .

there is also Magneflux and metal check procedures that find cracks.
some machine shops , do all that as a matter of solid business practice.
no one likes surprises.

Apologies. It is a 1992 1.6l 8v Throttle body motor out of a 2wd tracker with a manual transmission. I do not know the application of the new engine block. It was supposed to be the same but I do not know this for a fact. Were they different? According to the assembler, everything seemed fine during assembly. He is verifying with the machine shop that did the engine block and head work that pressure tests were done. As I stated, there is SO much water I find it hard to believe that it is a crack that was not noticible to the eye. There should be a chunk out of the head or block to cause this much. Would an 8v head bolt to a 16v block and not be noticibly wrong? Are there 8v blocks that would not be compatible with this 8v head? Another intake has been tried and ONLY water has been run in the radiator with no antifreeze. The oil has been changed every time we started it and it is shut down within seconds because water is spraying from the air intake snorkel. With the exhaust header off, water runs out of EVERY exhaust chamber. Thanks for your time

the intake manifold needs to be examined.
the intake gaskets, all need checking. lots of water paths there, preheat on 8v is major deal , unlike 16v.
pull it you will find it. the intake is bad.

glad you did the water only test , very SMART !!!

8v block has non valve indention pistions.
16v block has piston cut outs, very obvious.

Thanks, what exactly do you mean by preheat is major deal on 8v? I don't understand what preheat is.

yes, the single point sprays into a large plenum.
they heat this way up. with hot coolant, to vaporish gas, when cold.
so it has more places to leak. then 16v, IIRC.
