last:
1-lube change every 2 years.
2-dont drive car with bad clutch as that can destroy the input shaft ( which are now in sort supply world wide, I just bought a new one and was informed of this fact)
3- do not loss those top rubber plugs on the tranny. if you do the lube leaks out and
good by tranny.

on 4wd, the center case is dry, on the bottom is a little vent slit.
look for it. if it is leaking only , you have a no longer dry case and you have bad seals inside (end of tranny or front of Xfr case seal s bad).
it the leak gets worse, and you skip the lube checks, the tranny will die.

same with front of tranny, if it leaks lube, fix it. (new seal) (or just keep checking lube, add as needed till eventual clutch death)
front seal , will drip on clutch and it will slip soon. so no reason to delay fix, just do it.

cheers.

only #3 is unique to kicks.

on 2wd kicks the center case is wet , due to dummy transfer case.

nah, some cars 90k and junk , no maintenance.
others are 300k and are ready to truck.
fresh oil, read the manual that came with the car.
see maintenance table, ?
change the fluids per the chart.
car will reward you with long service.
the tranny is very strong, if you run it dry, who is at fault.

common for HIGH MILEAGE KICKS
or someone put the tranny back together and left out the plugs
and or was to dumb to clean it and glue them in proper as the FSM shows how to do correctly.

when you buy a used car , you buy the origional plus all the
bad things done to it. Like the idoit that cuts the tail light harness for trailer lites and the other boozo that cuts out the radio harness connector and hashes in a night mare of junk or some other basket case that wires in walmart alarm with a bucket of quick splices or worse wire nuts. I have undone more basterdized wiring systems that I can remember.

when ever you get a new strange car , replace all fluids immediatly.
assume the PO what a goof ball and either didnt do it or did it all wrong. ( like GL4 in the axles )

ok have a great weekend.
