Default Real Men Drive "Jeeps"

Hello Guys/Gals:
Here in the Southeast, Trackerkicks have always been very popular with the females. When I purchased mine, I hardly ever saw a guy driving one. I discussed this with several of my friends before I bought it and was told time and again, that this was a "Chick Car" and real men drove "Jeeps". Of course they had Jeeps and other big 4X4s. I caught a lot of flack about buying this sissy 4X4.
My grandfather had a real Army Jeep and it was close to the size of my Tracker 2dr so I knew the advantage of a smaller 4X4 when off-roading.
I also Googled Sidekick/Trackers and discovered how much modding was being done with lifts and big mudders and that in fact MEN in other parts of the country drove these!
Well, I guess the purpose of this post is to gloat a bit as my " Girlie Man" Tracker still has the original engine ( the jeeps have all blow up), I get great MPG , have very few repair and most important, I can slide through rocks and trees that the fat Jeeps cannot get between.
With gas near $3.20gal here, Trackerkicks are poping up everywere here and MEN are driving them.
I was wondering if anyone here has been accused of driving a Girlie Man truck, or is it just a REDNECK southern thing.

i get alot of funny looks while driving mine. I had a newer jeep with 33's. Dang thing only got 15 miles to the gallon. my little tracker gets 27 . if the people giving me these looks only new what this little (girly) 4x4 would go through i think they would wipe that goofy look off their face. I love my tracker and it is well worth the 1300 cash i paid for it. That included mud tires and a 8000# warn winch that works cause i had to try it out yesterday.

Maybe the Jeep people are just envious of the fact that we get such great results with these trucks.

BTW..Most of the women that I have seen driving these were not too girlie either!

I feel that way a Bit, coming from building a full rock crawler out of a cj7 but it had mostly chevy and scout drivetrian. I've owned many modified jeeps and they look cool and are very capable but not very practical. Yes with gas over 3 bucks a gal. I'll drive a tracker. I think I'll do a 2" body lift or a 1 1/2 coil spacer lift and some 235X75x15's to get away from that.

Your Grandpa's M151 series jeep was (and still is) a very capable 4x4 off road (I never managed to tip one over in 10 years of using one in the military)...but the handling really was bad on hardball roads. The Humvee was much more stable, but hard to get through the woods and was a real pig on fuel (4-6 mpg)

Zuki's have been used by various military forces too:

Think this is the Pakistani or Indian Army, but either way, I'd still not like to fire those TOW Missiles Broadside

I saw several Samis (but not Kicks) being used by the Saudi Army during Desert Storm, but sadly, I don't have any pics

If this ain't manly man use of our favorite vehicles, I don't know what is.

Talk about girly at least zuki's aren't barbie jeeps. little pink thing barbie drives around. Any vehicle can be girly and most can be made manly. My wife says the jeep doesn't make the man the man makes the jeep. lol

Oh man I take so much abuse from my friends, when I bought it one of them asked me why I bought Barbies car.

I had a Wrangler waaaaaay back in the day, I went thiugh two manual tranmissons cause they were poorly built with brass parts, by the Pugeot company, who i'm pretty sure is out of business, for some reason every 2 out of ten Jeeps had this tranmisson I guess it saved money, but they were the worse & expensive to replace.

That & fuel prices is what stoped me from buying another one.

When I was looking for a 4X4 softtop there wasn't but a couple options. The repair index of the CJ was near worst of any and the Trackerkick was near the best. When someone rides with me they are shocked at how much leg room there is in the front. I added a hardtop this fall and it is really is nice. I was able to put my ski rack on it and made many trips to slopes this year. My friends rode with me and left their gas hoggs at home.

Several of my co-worker (men) are now driving these little gems and loving them proving once again that bigger is not always better

Bear
This is my 2nd car
A couple of my friends had the same reaction, one of the, a 6'4" guy was more comfortable sitting in the back of my tracker tha he was sitting in the back of my Cadiilac Deville, that says alot right there.
another one of my friends is kicking himself for buying a 92' civic for commuting back & forth to work, he wants a tracker now ecause of its 4wd & convertiable.

I always liked them, i'm happy i bought it, I would buy another one, the next one i buy will be a little more "done up". As for this one, I need to get a plow. slightly bigger tires & a hardtop.

I wonder how they keep the Zuki's from flipping over backwards when they fire the rockets
