My 2001 Suzuki Vitara has two keys to start it. It has, of course, the normal key that you put in the ignition. But it also came with some kind of security feature key. There is this little key slot on the bottom of my dashboard to the left of my steering wheel. I have to press the security feaature key into that before I put the regular key into the ignition to start the car. I've lost both and don't know what to do. I've read a similar thread telling another person that he can go to the dealer and get a new key made using the key code by giving the dealer the VIN. Does anyone know if the dealer can also get me a replacement for that security feature key? Without that, I still can't start my car even if I get a new copy of the regular key.
welcome to the site,
i don't know about the security feature key, sounds like that is after market, i don't think that the GV came Original Equipment with such a security feature, you may have to take it to an aftermarket car alarm company and have them disconnect/re-key it,
you may also want to post this in the Suzuki Grand Vitara forum and see if anyone their can help you out,
