Question Leak

Remember me? I discovered a oil/gearlube? leak under the passenger side towards the middle of the rig when i called the shop he said that he had to
put lube in the tranny and that the rear main seal was fine what else could
be leaking it wasn't there before the repair.

This is a long shot, but I had a misterious leak coming from the top of my gearbox, in front of the shifter. There are a few holes there that as far as I can tell allow access to the shift detent mech.

The leak only ever happened when the vehicle was in 5th, took me AGES to find! Ended up plugging it with a rubber bung and high temp silicon.

This is assuming you have a manual?
Good luck.

hes right ,the top left side of 5sp has rubber plug, and it falls out .
the leak is real slow but sure.
remove center console and boots clean , put in plug with RTV silcone glue wait 24hrs.
or use 3M trim rubber contact cement and they drive away.

use acetone to clean the metal or it WILL fall out again.

btw ACE hardware has the plugs and the acetone.

have eom pn for plug , it is on the shifter page not case page as i thought.
