any 92 with a no start but starts with a dribble GAS TRICK.
yes, re-seat the ECU, behind left front speaker but unless you know how to depress the unlocks, you will break something. (do NOT just yank the cables, anywhere on car)
the NOID LAMP is the
best way to tell if the problem is lack of fuel or lack of INJECTION PULSES FROM THE ECU.
$2 light bulb as I show on my link above, easy, cheap fast test.
the lamp will flash brightly, as you crank engine. if not ECU is busted or:
here is a list of ECU no injection pulse reasons: { dead NOID lamp symptoms}
1: no power
2: no ground ( at dizzy base and thermostat housing are cirical grounds. for ecu and sensors.
3: no spark always means no injection (yours, has spark, so skip)
4: no CAS , yours has spark so CAS is good ( cas is the sensor at base of Dizzy) (crank/cam angle sensor)
5: TPS wiper pin stuck at 4. to 5v signalling forever UNFLOOD MODE. (throttle pos. sensor)
6: spark read back pin busted or noise filter open bad or unplugged. <<<< just fixed one last week for this but car was a frankenkick. (kick engine in a sammi)
7: bad ecu (very common) most only need $3 capacitors to fix it.
That was all the Electronic reasons. (sounds daunting but after all , a computers does run that engine)
There can be other reasons, ( I skipped the basic mechanical engine part , crank, pistons, valves, Timing belt slipped, etc)
the NOID test ,why is that the best way?
simple , it cuts the problem in 1/2 , <<< give time saver ,if ever......
BTW: this car does NOT know the fuel rail pressure ,so it pulses injector , no matter what the fuel pump i doing.
BTW2: Jeff Hartman's new book has an error on 164 step 4, he shows testing for fuel by pull in the coil. (buy the book its great)
on Suzuki's this kills the fuel pump , that's right, if the ECU can not see spark , it kills the fuel pump to prohibit hydrolock or fire in a collision. so dont kill spark while testing on a Suz. or you will chase your tail.
Many After market EMS computers do not have this safety feature. sadly.
