Default TCC Solenoid source

I found an online source for the TCC Solenoid.

Follow this link:

3L30 & 180 Switches & solenoids: Bulkpart transmission parts

Got the solenoid (US made), pan gasket, Filter and its gasket for $45.36, delivered. took about 4 days to arrive.

Hope this helps others trying to find one

A followup on the parts I ordered.

First I flushed the transmission, replacing all of the fluid with new.

Then I Installed all of the parts yesterday. Also put a drain plug kit in the trans pan.

And just for fun I hooked up an indicator light with off of the relay to the trans, in the white wire, to indicate that the solenoid had been activated.

Fianlly, I pulled out the speedo cable and relubed it. No more noise!

Road tested it and it works great. The parts form that source I mentioned before were great. Fast delivery and good price.

By the way, JTGH for your reference, there is no oil pressure switch in the 98 model. power goes directly from the relay to the TCC solenoid

thats right and there is a TSB showing the removal of a pressure switch in the tranny between TCC relay and the TCC internal solenoid. 95 and behind , IIRC.
each car has diffs. fsm and tsb together , formulate the current state.
cheers ,
Im no tranny guy, id pull the bugger and put in a 5sp, ahahahaha

there is also a tsb showing the addition of a delay switch mounted to fire wall to stop crazy TCC hunting ,or some such rot.

that tcc lock up lite is way cool. no more guessing, who is messing up.

you are correct the newer kicks have direct drive out of factory for TCC
and 4sp, has TCM (tranny puter) which direct drives shifting.

cheers.

I want to pick up a few extra before pullin the pan for the "just incase", since I am going tobe in the parts store picking up a new tranny filter and gasket.

I think they were 10 MM. I ordered the pan gasket and filter from the same place as the solenoid, just tyo save some running around. Getting that lock up working again was great, makes the ride quieter and better mileage

there metric, 10mm is head size ( a guess) 10 thread is huge ! almost .4 inches almost 7/16"

screw size is another matter.
6mm x 1.xx pitch ( Most likely) take 1 screw , match it up. tread to thread.
or
8mm x 1.xx pitch , i do not know what pitch.
