Default Replacement lock cylinder & key for rear door

Does anyone here have good news for me???

I have a 97 4door tracker. The rear door's lock needs to be jiggled exactly the right way in order to open. Maybe 1 out of 20 attempts is successful.

Should I replace the cylinder? Can it be removed & cleaned, then put back?

I've been looking for a replacement. The only success has been a dealership:
$100 for the part. $300 for the part, tax and labor.

Ignition cylinder replacements aren't too hard to find, but a door replacement hasn't been promising at all.

If you really want to make your heart skip a beat, ask about the price for the matched set of ignition and door locks!

Your best bet to try before resorting to replacing the lock is to use some of that "canned air" used to clean computers to blow out the lock internals and then some graphite powder inside the tumblers.
If that doesn't work, then there is not much else you can do...

Is it fairly easy to get to the cylinder myself, remove it and do this work it??

that price is crazy , almost bought one from :
https://www.trademotion.com/partloca...?siteid=214330

but why, just take the key and cylinder to the local lock smith.
mine just one me one for $20
your key is worn out, or is a copy of a copy repeat like mine was.

pop panal flip plastic clip, slide cylinder clip to left , out it pops
but then you can lock it,
so I just kept car empty for 2 days. no deal.
or you can tie the lock lever rod up so its locked full time.
tied with string.

had to re key my ign, for same price.
cut a custom key for perfect fit.

new lock and key $38.33 , pays to shop around.
proof
