Default sidekick starter issue - clutch switch related?

Hello, another newbie here to the forum with an obligatory question. I have a '91 Suzuki Sidekick JXL that has starting issues. Sometimes it turns right over, while at other times I have to push the clutch in numerous time, just to the point of hearing the safety switch click. I hold the key in start position while repetitively hitting that switch with the clutch pedal until the starter finally kicks in. Does this sound like a starter problem or clutch safety switch (not sure of the terminology), and if so, can that be bypassed?

Default

it's bad, tweak it or replace it.

when linkage switches fail it is because, they are bad or they are misadjusted.
it is just a simple switch, ( like a light switch in the bed room)

It is there only, so the next Audi 5000 lady wont run over her kids. heheeheh

on manuals its a clutch switch.
on autoslushomatics it is a park lockout safety switch.
both disallow the start key line from reaching the Starter.

cheers
