OBD "not ready"
My 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara JLX/LTD(2.5, auto, 120k miles) recently failed a MA state inspection due to 3 of the On Board Diagnostic tests returning "not ready" during the OBD diagnostic checks. The 3 that failed were the (1) Catalytic Converters (2) Evaporative System and (3) Oxygen Sensors. I took it to a Suzuki dealership and they worked on it for close to 6 hours performing various diagnostics, including pulling the ECM to inspect and clean. They were also on the tech help line and tried all the suggestions they had in order to get the monitors out of the "not ready" state but without any success. The only suggestion they had was to replace the ECM at around $900 US but they weren't sure that would solve the problem. I need an inspection sticker. Anyone run into this problem or have any possible suggestions?
