Default G16 engine question

So far I have found that there are G16A and G16B engines for the Tracker. Does any body have a G16S model? Thanks

I have an '86 Samurai and a '95 Sidekick, the Samurai says G13B on the block while the Sidekick says G16S. Is the 'S' part of the block model number or is it part of the serial number? With the Sami there is a dash after the 'B' while there is no dash on the Sidekick's block number so I'm not sure.

A cursory search shows that the G16S was shipped in the Esteem from 96-01. How did an Esteem engine end-up in a Sidekick, well I can see someone was wrenching on the engine perhaps they swapped blocks.

Thats the most likely scenario. Its essentially the same block, I know of a couple of people who have used the Esteem/Baleno block in a Track/Kick/Vit. The distributorless version is a good swap into a Jimny too as it uses pretty much the same EFI system, you just need to swap in the Baleno injectors. I have a Baleno engine to go into my SJ413 pickup when I get around to it.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like the G16S block I have is a blend of components as the head does have a distributor on it.

The sidekick is a donor vehicle as I will be taking the engine and possibly the trany (that way I won't have to use an adapter plate). I'll just fabricate whatever mounts I need to make the engine physically fit into the Samiurai. The hurdle I'm looking at now is getting the ECU wiring paired down as it has 48 wires that go directly into a large ball of wires. The ECU is a Mitsubishi 58B90, does anyone happen to know where a pinout diagram can be found for this unit?

Thanks.
