Question OD off light keeps blinking?

I bought a 1993 sidekick automatic a couple of months ago and noticed that the overdrive off light in the dash keeps blinking after about a half mile down the road and stays blinking reguardless if the overdrive is on or off. I don't think this is normal, yet the tranny seems to shift ok. I even cleared the computer thinking it would fix it without any luck. Has anyone had this problem?

Default o/d off light blinking

Hi! I purchased a 92 automatic from my sister and it is having the same problem, I checked the code, I get a 12 which is supposed to be normal. My transmission is slipping. Did you ever get the issue resolved with yours?

No not yet but working on it, mine doesn't seem to be slipping just when it gets warmed up seems to loose power up hills and spittering and sputting. I'll let you know what I find out. Mine shows a code 12 too..

your 3 speed automatic (ignore if 4 speed, unlikely)
the transmission has 1 more feature ( like a 3 -1/2 gear ) called
TCC torque converter lock up. ( old fashion name Overdrive) or OD.
at about 46mph , your ECU , commands TCC lockup on a single wire. ( this lower gear , drops RPM by its nature)

it the RPM'S do not drop , the ECU detects this and warns you.
The OD lamp then flashes warning of this failure.
it can be a simple bad TCC relay
a bad transmission, or an under or over filled (foaming) transmission oil level.
that is the nut shell.

If ECU gives a command and it is ignored , you will get this error.
no matter the cause. (happens on ice some times, random)

Well I think I fixed my problem! I pulled the tranny codes and got a code 32 (throtle position sensor), the tps checked out ok but it was out of alignment. I also changed the tranny fluid and filter, cleared the codes and the light stayed off and lots of power and smooth shift. Thank you so much for the tranny codes it was a BIG help.

I spoke too soon, I took it for a good run today and the od off light started blinking again but it is still working ok, lots of power and smooth shift. I pulled the codes and got a code 31 vehicle speed sensor, I pulled out the instrument panel checked the vss with an ohm meter and seems to be ok pulsating like it suppose to. Although it's running good the flashing light bugs me. Any suggestions to what to do now?

Does anybody know where the harness from the tcu plugs into the tranny? I couldn't seem to find it, I suspect that since my vss is good and no check engine light that the tranny is not getting the signal from the tcu that is why the tranny code is giving me a vss problem? Also if anyone knows what pins do what on this harness it would be great.
