Unhappy Help, lost my Key!!

Hello Everyone!
I have a big problem!
I bought a new Suzuki Grand Vitara back in 2003 that came with 2 keys for the vehicle. At some point we ended up losing one of the keys so I decided last year it was too risky to operate with the 1 key, this is where the problems started.

I have now had a total of 4 keys cut, all that have not worked!

The 4th key that was cut came from the dealer. I went in to see them and they only had the one blank. The guy told me that he used the "Key Code", but it didn't work, and because he only had the 1 blank, couldn't cut another one.

The next problem was that the plastic "eye" hole started to give way and I had to remove it from the key chain for fear of losing it.

Last night we were at the church for a Christmas function and my daughter, bless her heart, came in an asked for my keys to get her stuff out of the Grand Vitara as she was going to a friends house. About 15 minutes later she walked in the door to me, face red from the -15 degree cold, and told me that she lost the key! She had spent the time looking for it afraid to tell me she lost it.

Well, we spent the rest of our evening looking everyway to no avail and I now have my Grand Vitara in the church parking lot and can't move it. To beat all, they are calling for a major snow storm today so I will have to move it even it that means towing it.

Is there anyone that can tell me how I can get another key for my vehicle? Can they use the S/N from the vehicle to get my proper Key Code as I don't seem to have any other record of one?

Cheers!

Well, that sucks, but you should be able to get a new key for it

You should find a different dealership to cut the key, for an 04 they should have NO problem cutting it. Most have records back into the mid 90's...

JW did it go in and not turn, not go in at all, or go in and turn but not start it?

If it was the latter, you may need to reset the computer with the key in it (like on my moms 04 pontiac GP...)

Talk to a competent dealer and let us know
Good luck

What a rotten deal, SORRY !!!!
bad dealer, cant cut a key, wow, how basic.
If not an electronic key then:

My key couldnt be copied either. cause the only orig. was worn down. tried 4 times.
took whole igniton to quality lock shop , said call me when you have 2 good keys.
1 week later.... ( great having a back up car. no panics)

in your case ,call the same quality lock shop.

they can cut one on site or even do it the hard way.

hard way is a work of art to watch. Ask them. A real Craft skill for sure.

Never ever use the 1 master key, just keep it for making perfect copies.
that is the equation for happiness.

if you have a $500 electronic key, well , my heart sinks for you.
I will never own such a thing.

I figure if an expert can get into my car, then the dang thing is no good. (car and key)
Imagine being stranded in a car 2000 miles away for such a silly idea.

But... Fear sells.

rant, I cant get in, my dealer cant get in, my lock smith cant get in, and the thief cant get in.
What perfect technology.!
end rant. Geeesshhh
