Vitara - "Must Do's"

Hi guys,
I've just got myself a 1997 Vitara and I'm wondering if there were any "must do's"?

For example, as a previous owner of a Skyline, the exhaust was one of the FIRST things you would replace (cat-back). The stock exhaust was the very definition of 'restrictive'.
Replacing the cold air intake was also high on the agenda, although many people debated on whether the panel filter was better than the pod.

If anyone has any suggestions on any 'mild' modifications, please post!

Some mods have been covered in the past but most are on the 1.6L. Seems like the cone filter is a univerasal debate. I have a cheap cone filter and I dont think it makes much differance on a stock engine but it does give it a deeper intake sound. I think most factory exhaust system are pretty restrictive.
