Hi guys first time in this forum. I have a 1996 escudo with a whining noise coming from left rear wheel. Changed the wheel bearing but the noise is still there. It occurs around 10 mins of driving and will stop and start again. It does not occur when i accelerate. Please help!!!
put safely on a lift.
using mechs, stethoscope , find noise source.
even on stands it is possible but very dangerous, do to close quarters.
a lift is the safest way to do this.
many tire shops will do it for $30 , lift and listen? ask for off hours diagnosis.
Got it fixed. The axel plate was bent slightly. my mechanic corrected the bent plate thats the one with the four studs which bolts the axel to the diff.
