Yes, that's the problem, mine only has 7#'s. I ran my vin on several free sites and it came back as a 1996 Tracker.

jtgh,
Will that parts dealer use your tracker vin# for parts? I tried a another Suzuki one and they refered me to the GM people. Don't the Sidekick and Tracker use the same running gear and most parts?
Thanks,
Bear

Jerry if you are going south all the way and driving , if you plan on passing through mi hometown, I can PM my phone number and maybe if you can see us hear.

Bear I think that you are making a storm in a glass of water, I have just bought in a little city near the south border in a O´Reilly´s autoparts the air and gas filter, distributor cap, rotor and wires, breake pads, etc. asking parts for a Geo Tracker auto, 4x4 2 dr. and if by any chance the guy says he doesn´t have the part , ask for the same part for a Suzuki Sidekick, its exactly the same thing. I needed to buy a TCC Solenoid for my auto trans., went in the same city to a GM dealership and it cost $125, went also to a Suzuki dealership, and bought it the same part for $78.So as jtgh says , you have to do the homework.

The only thing about ordering a part on line without what the dealer considered a valid VIN# is that if it is the wrong part they will not let you return it. That's All.
