Default 99 vitara spark plugs

does anyone use hotter plugs in the winter? this is the second winter that i have driven it, and i notice (as with any car in the cold) that i lose fuel mileage. so, would a hotter range of plug make a difference? i am currently running bosch platinum 2 (stock heat range)

There should be no reason to use a higher heat range, just takes longer for the engine to come to full operating temp and hotter plugs wont change that.

I am running on NGK Platinums (standard heat range)

never stop ,and drive from 45 - 55mph and your mileage WILL get way better
and dont forget the fresh raw egg under your foot, no leaks allowed.

hahahahah

also, tire pressure to spec.
clean air filter.
newer OXY sensor (old slow ones, suck gas)

If you want to experiement the buy the scangageII ,obd2 plug in display.
push MPG , now drive, now see MPG in real time.
with the device you will learn what works and what dont in no time.

Plan trips, (do all shopping at once)

hope this proves interesting

link: ( it does work) [ keep in mind it is relative and not absolute]
ScanGaugeII - Trip Computers + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool

it will work well at speed above 0,
why? ever divide by zero?

or what is your MPG at a red light, <,<< think about that.?

All engines/vehicles suffer from loss of efficency in cold weather (cold starts, longer warm up cycle, faster cool down, fluids/grease chilled so thicker/tighter), some things we have to live with.

But, dont despair the fuel economy will return in the spring... P

Some people go to great lengths to draw warm air off of the exaust manifold to pre-heat the air going into the engine. I have also heard of fuel pre-heaters. The main Idea is that the gasolene vaporises better. You can also block air from entering the grill(s)... Many people use Coroplast for this. It is a corogated plastic used mainly for signs. Political advertisements are best because they have built-in hot air.
