Default Update: '97 Sidekick won't start

It just spit out trouble code P1500, which from my research is a Starter Circuit Signal Malfunction. There's 12 volts at the ignition switch, but only 75 millivolts at the end of the black/yellow wire. Does this trouble code come from the neutral/start switch if it's bad? I also looked for an alarm wire spliced into this wire, but came up empty. Thanks in advance for the help.

with no schematic , you have just one choice,
that's correct, trace it.
start at the ignition switch and trace the start wire , until it goes dead.
bingo , YOU GOT IT.
surely someone here has a 97 schematic,

i have a 96 russian one, ?

75mv = 0 .

once you find out what IT ,is , you can sometimes fix it by taking IT apart and cleaning the contacts.
ive been known to drill rivets in switches,etc

anything SUZ + electric = MAX BUCKS

find a used one.

I've got a schematic and it shows the wire stays the same colors all the way to the starter. First check to see where it comes out of the colum and the first plug it comes to and check for power on the other side of the plug...C1 connection should be B+. PM later if you get lost... I can scan it and send it to you.

Also, put your gear selector in different positions as you test for power at the end of the wire. I believe that the blck yellow should run into the range switch on the tranny, so you may want to back probe there and see if you have B+ going into your trans range switch. You can then trace it back from there at the trans plug and there should be a harness inside as well...C1 connection by the computer where your left foot is when you drive.

Go get em tiger.

Default Thanks for the help

Luckily I have a second car to drive, so it can sit for about a week. I already wired in a remote start switch to get me by.
