Default 96 tracker engine problem

I bought a 96 Tracker 1.6 16 valve 2dr soft top with a knock in the engine. I checked it out and the timing belt gear on the end of the crankshaft is loose and wobbled around on the crank. Now I need to either do an engine swap or find another crank & gear for this one. What year models will fit this? Any suggestions?

any 1.6 block up to matching 16v. ( just blocks no heads , with crank , rods and pistions)
89 to 98 sidekicks.
some swifts sf416 in some counties, not USA?
swift GT, has Turbo block! finest made. if you find it.

vitara's 99-03 , i do not know, but will check.
the pn on vitara is 1 digit higher up to 2001

ok, I read lots of posts on repairing this but I don't want to do a so so job and have problems down the road. This crank and keyway are really messed up. If you know what engines will swap right in or what crankshaft I would need to look for, I'd appreciate it. I read that 96-98 engines are the same and that the 95 & older cranks are different....is that right?

I checked on car-parts.com and they show 96-98 engines the same. Chevy told me the cranks were the same from 96-2000. A place that sells crankshaft kits told me the cranks were the same from 89-04. Samuriasalvage.com told me 92-98 16 valve 1.6 cranks were all the same. They also said a 95 engine would be a "bolt in" swap if they have the same ignition. Does anyone really know what fits what???

I talked to Hawk Suzuki and they said a pre 96 engine would work if I changed the oil pump & pan and the distributor. As for the crank, a 93 & later 16 valve engine is the same. Te differences are the counter balances. The older ones don't have they same but might work.

one guy said, and it is a good method.
pull crank, take to machine shop, and put a new key way at 180 degrees
opposite. then mark up a new cog bottom gear with 180 marke.
reassemble and set crank to new mark.

not Kosher but mech. sound.
I thought that one , deserves the Ingenious rating of 100 %

not to mention, any good machine shop can fix it right!
given a chance !

there is a Service Bulletin on crank pully main nut torque, 1992 on, but I dont have it.
"just noticed, TS423 (and ts411r) for crank pulley " alldata wants $25 to get it, rats!
what is the new torque?
regards.
