Default 91 tracker EFI problem

I have a 91 tracker with a 1.6 and the other day it died on me.
If I pour a little gas down the carb it will fire and run for a few seconds.

There is gas going to the carb (EFI) Took off the gas line at the carb and gas is being pump. Took off the return line and gas is there.

I'm pretty sure the problem is electrical. Gas is going to the carb (EFI) but the efi won't open to let gas into the carb.
Fuses are good
Any ideas? which relay is causing the problem

click Link above, then on "I think my ECU is dead". take the test. its easy.

you have spark but now injection.
it is bad ECU or weak pump.
try the ECU test first ( you dont need to run fuel all over heck, at least YET).
ask questions.
your car is a 1.6L TBI (throttle body fuel injection)
cool it is cuz you can look down bore while cranking and see NO GAS flowing (use a mirror ).
wear asbestos suit, I mean teflon.

yes, there is a relay called the Fuel Pump Relay.
but listen in the gas cap hole for fuel pump buzz.
FP only runs for 3 seconds each KEY ON , no start.
get help, you listen , someone keys ON.

I tried a ECM from I think was a 1990 sidekick. the ECM look the same

(the old one had US-MT on the back and the one that I tried had CAN-MT) but when I plug it in and turn the key the Fuel pump relay when crazy just TICK TICK TICK.....TICK........

I know one was for the US and one for Canada, but acording to the computor they should be a match. I quess not.

Is there any place that test and rebuild them?
I know where I live they can't even test them.

I did the 3 test
1) Turn the key and the CEL lamp does come on
2)CEL does flash code 12 which is normal
3) I test the Injestor with a NOID lamp and IT DOES NOT LIGHT UP
So there is no power to the injector but the CEL flashes that everything it NORMAL

the ECU's
have year range
MT/AT
and 8Valve or 16 valve,
lots of permutations.
there about 10 companies on EBAY that not only sell them , they will fix yours and they also have pages that show every pn and type of ECU ever made for these.

NOID FAILS + SPARK GOOD = BAD ECU. <<<<< this is you correct?

the only exception (reasonable) is bad power and ground to ECU.

contact that guy on ebay. he is nice guy.

trouble with used ECU's? all bad. [ kicks are infamous for bad ECU , especially 91's]

if you tell me the exact engine in your car I can give you exact PN.
1.6L 8-Valve , 91 + MT - TBI = 33920-56B30 ??

the first 5 digits are the same. up to 95'.
last 5: AT= 56B40
last 5: AT= 60A42 (89-90 only)
92-94 shows 20 different ECUs ( 1/2 being 16vlave)

I hope this helps.

your ecu is toast.
sorry.

if you have an AUTOMATIC , the ECU MOST ALSO BE AUTOMATIC.
not true for manuals.

the same thing happened to me in my 91 tracker. I found a simple fix, its the constant power for the injector. I was told it goes into the ecm across the circuit board and out to the injector. This circuit has a weak link that always fails. The fix.... Splice into your power for your coil and run a new wire to the RED wire for the injector, this will give it constant 12V during cranking. Now, having said all that i do not know how safe that this fix is, but since my geo is for 4X4 off road use only, and that i don't really want to spend atleast $70 bucks for a rebuilt ECM. I went ahead and did it. So far, no problems works fine.

if the car is a throwaway go for it.
but you risk burning up the coil in the injector.
price one of those. ?

Both sides are driven on this Injector.

see both transistors here:

Default Ecu 1990

89 FIREBIRD, you tried with a 1990 ECU that not works, I need a ECU for Geo TRacker 4x4 1990 automatic PN 33920-60A42 and I not found it. If Your ECU is the same model, I buy it you?
Thanks
