Default Suzuki Vitara 1996

My Suzuki Vitara does not idle when it warms up. It starts fine and idle fine when i first start it. After I drive it for a few miles the "check engine" light would come on. It would sometimes go off by itself.

When it is warm and I stop it would rev up and down by itself then cut off.

Can anyone help with this issue?

pull code
you may need OBD code reader to do it ,or Autozone do for free.
CEL

guess at:
egr valve stuck open 1st
TPS bad
vacuum leak.

where do I find the egr valve ?

...a dealer suggested that the IAC valve but after i repleaced it, I an still getting the same problem.

I also replaced the TPS...

Sometimes when I put on the AC the Vitara idles well.

Another guy suggested the throttle body, but that's very expensive so I need some advice. Can the throttle body be serviced?...

what country, what engine, usa has 3 engines in that car.
cant guess.

IF CEL is on, pull code, knowing the trouble code is invalueable !!
it is expensive thowing parts at car. (

Here are some things that can cause it
Muck and grime behind throttle plate ( common issues on may cars)
causing butterfly valve to not close properly or small ports in this area are filty.

no one replaces a TB. we clean them.

vacuum leak , any hose, or diaphram cracked, test with mityvac tool.

Egr messes up, and leaking. ( usually causes IDLE drop but maybe ECU is trying to compensate and doing poorly at it, not uncommon)

Let me guess at 1.6 liter engine Location questions:

EGR - bolted to rear of manifold Intake, remove and clean valve
IAC/ISC , below trottle body front lip. remove lean it and inside manifold

YOur car just might need a full tune up.
and cleaning PVC, EGR and ISC passages are all part of that process.

when cars dont idle , most times it is just simple maintenance that needs done and not really a parts failure.

Checking every vacuum hoses for leaks and cracks and breaks is a simple check.

good luck.
