Aluminum radiator and electric fan. !!Recommended to all!!
i recently blew the head gasket on my kick (due to a seized thermostat, $10 part causes $700 dollars worth of damage) well the head was warped pretty bad to the naked eye and it had 180,000 miles on it so i just bought a reman. head instead of rebuildin mine and it was i lil cheaper.
in the process i replaced:
head (reman.)
radiator (all aluminum honda delsol half radiator)
radiator hoses (custom flexible metal hoses)
waterpump (oem)
thermostat (lower temp then oem not sure exactly what)
temp gauge sending unit (oem)
fan ( 14" electric fan with relay and thermostatic switch)
all new tranny fluid lines
added oil cooler for tranny as new radiator had none ( Maxx performance aluminum dual pass )
well overall the car runs better than it ever has and cooling of the setup im running is awsome. also the mpg is at a steady 27mpg and im a "spirited driver" compared to 23-24 before.
the fan is set to turn on at 170 and i believe the thermostat is at 168.
fab work was a minimum just drilled 2 holes to mount cooler where original radiator was. and welded in one bracket for radiator to sit on and one to mount in oem location of original radiator. the radiator is nearly half the size of the old radiator yet its nearly three times as thick and it holds more fluid then original radiator. plus its aluminum no more plastic which cracked from the seized thermostat as well as balloned the radiator hoses.
ill post pics soon any questions justask it was extremely easy and ill gladly help anyone interested in converting there fan over to electric.
i would recomend the radiator and fan setup to anyone oh ya and the parts are at least half the price of the oem parts.
