Default fyi

96 has OBD2 level computer with 16 pin trapezoidal
connector LH side ,above knee. must face you with open end.
most are under dash edge , some under ash tray and others under a simple plastic pop off panel (generic discription of location)

Beg, barrow, rent ( go to AutoZOne to get free scan) a scanner , pull the code, and report.

You can buy one at Harbor freight for $29-$39 depending on Sale status.
your car will produce a Pxxxx code
if CEL lamp flashs , this means SERIOUS. (dont drive)

BAT Auto Technical-Professional mechanics giving advice-An Educational Site w/ OBD2 Trouble Codes and Technical info & Tool Store.

we in usa take , ECU and turn up side down, and the slowly cook it over open camp fire. Cherokee style. HAH.

this gets us to open loop quickest. we love burning fuel here.
Its so easy to get a kick to burn like a H2 it's not funny.

hehehehe
