Default Signal Problems

I have a 1995 Tracker. I was driving it tonight and put on my signal and after i completed my turn the signal wouldn't shut off. The signal lever went back to the neutral position but the light's kept blinking on the dash. After a while of driving like this i noticed the smell of smoke. Does anyone have a suggestion of what this could be and how I could fix it? Thanks

Default

new turn sig. switch.
cant explain smoke unless internal switch cracked in half.
hard part:
1- check for abs , if yes, I cant help you, tricky stuff.
and dangerous. stop.
NOt ABS? ( usa model shows none)
2- remove steering wheel front cover.
3 _ i had to make a steering wheel puller. fun.
4- pull wheel with puller.
remove switch assembly.

my parts list shows you have to buy whole switch head which will cost fortune,
so either after market supplier or wrecking yard pull.
to save $
but rockauto shows combo switch for $185 , ouch.
