During some interior maintenance work I found, what appears to be, a vacuum line behind the glove box. It is a clear line, approx. 1/4" O.D. with a white male to male connector and also has a coiled spring inside, running the entire visible length (possibly to prevent collapse). Can't see where it goes or should connect! The vehicle is a 95 tracker, 1.6, 16v, 4wd, auto. trans. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks, Dave
if your car has air bags, be careful there....
ones here dont.
you didnt say ,where does it start and where does it end.
do you have factory AIR?
if you do, it could be the condesnsate drain line. but that goes down.
i just scanned the whole parts list , it shows nothing of the sort.
After market junk left over from PO.
if this tube goes nowhere ,that that is what it is. Nothing.
My '96 Sidekick has the same clear line with a spring in it that I found while working on my blower fan. My car has no AC, 1.6. 5 speed, 4x4. I asked this question before and nobody replied.
yah, its not on the Factory parts photo list.
funny how now one knows what it connects to or from.
no one said how long it is. yet , 1 foot 4 feet?
Guessing ,it may be part of the HVAC (heating vent, and air cond)
it may just be a tube to catch dripping moisture from the window area and direct it to the condensate tube and the to the street.
all of my HVAC stuff is black color , most cars are in fact.
the spring would prevent the tube form pinching closed during tight turns.
finding what it connects to , is the solution to the mystery.
he didn't say what country he is in?, so I had to guess?
car vary ,vasty by DELIVERY country.
in fact my list shows 13 regions.
everybody posts, 9as it seems)
forgets to tell what they have (not this case)
and never tell what country they live in.
factory AIR ? I see only freon tubes and one down tube for condensate.
sidekick ? vitara?
i just looked at both 95 and 96 and nothing.
a tube,:
if its not a flex cable (speedo,HVAC adustments , hood latch, etc)
then it must be for air or liquid. ( is sure isnt a freon tube)
many times the shop parts lists do not show items that are common
over the counter things, like straight tubing.
or it is part of a total assembly that is not replaceable individually.
either some one else know here, or go wrecking yard and look at one torn apart.
my guess is a condensate drain, ( using the process of elimantion)
if it is broken then it will drip water on your feet, tiny amounts from
windshield.
