I found this site while trying to work through a "cranks but no start problem" with my 91 Sidekick. After filtering through some 70+ pages of posts and comparing symptoms found with my Sidekick to those experienced with other folks, I replaced the ECM against the advice of one of our local mechanics. Guess what? Runs like a top!

Thanks to everyone who contributes both problems and solutions. Saved me a pile of guesswork and probably money!

just to add to this, these Sidekicks are very popular parts order at suzuki dealerships, back ordered throughout all my suppliers.

the fix is to replace all the caps.
all most all 91's fail for this.
then blown injector drivers transistors.
