Default 8V or 16V?

Is there any way I can identify the number of valves per cylinder (without tearing it down) when the tag on the valve cover has worn off? From the engine sticker on the inside of the hood, I retrieved the following numbers, if it can be identified that way;

PSK 1.6T5 FFCX

Any help is appreciated.

opps , sorry just missed photo above by 3 seconds. shconer wins , cigar.

look at TB
down draft 8v,
side draft 16v

MAF next to Air Filter says 16v
scads of ways
8v has black tin valve cover no words , no embossed words.
16v stamped "16 VALVE"
and 16 v had Spark plugs thru cover.
not to mention multipoint injec
tion.
