4cyl 1.6 or 4cyl 2.0 engine? whats better?

I'm going to buy an australian Vitara around 1994-1998. Was just wondering what was the more reliable/better engine, the 4cyl 1.6L or the 4cyl 2.0L engine?
Slightly prefer the 2.0L just because it will have more power, but there doesnt seem to be many of them and not sure on there reliability?

I did a search and couldnt find anything on which is better.

parts cost
local talent (mechs)
looks
ride
options , cost?
the list if for ever. Better ? to whom?

But my opinion is:
1997 or newer with OBD2 level ECU. look for 16pin conn. bottom edge dash. and smog sticker under hood.
The 2L is nice engine.

Suzuki is running out of major parts for 96 and OLDer. Sad fact !
this to me, is paramount !

Eg: tranny parts, gears, axle parts, suspenson parts.. etc
