Default got a problem

My 1994 geo tracker LSI has a 1.6 8valve automatic. Well it doesn't like to shift to higher gear till about 35 miles an hour. If you don't push on gas it is fine but the slightest touch of pedal makes it downshift hard.ya like when I am doing 25 and let off gas it will shift up a gear but just push pedal and bam down a gear hard. I have flushed the tranny fluid already. It also doesn't always like to idle or coast down a steep hill without stalling. Any help will greatly appreciated.

thought so to does it with it disconnected but i haven't been able to get the cable out of the tranny itself to see but I have movement with the cable. So is there an easy way to get the cable out of the tranny. for I have been underneth looking at it and see that it goes into the tranny above the lines.

That I don't know, maybe someone who's taken the auto tranny apart? I've never gone that far.

You can also take a looksee here;

</title></head>"); newWindow.document.writeln("<body><div align='center'><img " + getWidth("yes") + "src='/images/cds/" + tpe + "/" + sze + "/" + pc + "." + tpe + "'></img></div>"); newWindow.document.writeln("<div align='center'><table><tr><td><FORM><input type='button' name='sized' value='" + getButtonValue("yes") + "' onClick='javascript:window.close();opener.pop(\"" + pc + "\",\"" + tpe + "_" + sze + "\",\"" + getValueToPass("yes") + "\");'></FORM></td>"); newWindow.document.writeln("<td><form><input type='button' value='Close' onClick='javascript:window.close()'/></form></td></tr></table></div>"); newWindow.document.writeln("<br/>"); newWindow.document.writeln("<div align='center'><font face='Veranda, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif' size='-2'>Copyright © 2002 Delmar, All Rights Reserved.</font></div></body>"); newWindow.document.writeln("</html>"); newWindow.focus(); newWindow.document.close(); newWindow.print(); } function pop_norm(pc, tpe, sze) { newWindow = open("","","directories=no,menubar=yes,toolbar=no, location=no,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,height=40 0,width=700,left=50,ScreenX=50,top=120,screenY=120 "); newWindow.document.writeln("<html><head><title>

Does the cable feel like it's hooked up to something inside the transmission?

ya it has tension but only pulls out a lil maybe 1/4 of inch a\it doesn't go all the way back in to the houseing feels like something inside the tranny isn't letting it go back into tranny but don't know if it is positively in the tranny or something in the cable itself that doesn't let it retract. ya only started this after I replace the engine as the old one blew up.
