Found a bobo on my front bodymount.
I had some minor bodywork repairs to make on my '91, holes in the floor on all corners, real minor, I started at the back and all went well, insulated with silicone to keep water out, screwed some new sheetmetal in there, made all the folds match the original ones then spot welded it for good measure.
Then I went to the front...
The floor has rusted through both front mounts, I've reinforced the passenger side with a think (3/16") metal plate welded onto the mount and then onto the floor (interceded between the mount and the floor, a plate sandwitch...) , then used the same technique as above to close it up, with some sheetmetal, screwed and spot welded.
I'm gonna do the same on the driver's side and wanted to know;
Should I reinforce that further or is what I did enough? I could reinforce it by using some C bent (or U) cantrust type metal bars, they're also 3/16" think, welding them perpenticular to the vehicle so they go from side to side, I'd make them about 8" long or so for them to encompass the mount where the arms are.
The diameter is 2 square inches.
I can take some photos to further illustrate.
Am I wasting my time or will it make a differerence in the vehicle's integrity?
